London, Sep 19, 2001/ FW/ --- Fashionistas flocked at Jasper Conran's show. A designer known for
his classic cuts, Jasper Conran can always be counted on to show clothes that are in good taste
and not showing too much skin yet very sexy.
Taking inspiration from the 1940s to the 1980s, the designer presented a conglomeration of the best
from each decade, either from attitude or the look. Jasper Conran sent out a collection ranging from
daywear to evening. Pencil cut skirt, tube tops, and jewel necklines matched with a cape or trench coat were
something you can wear anywhere and everywhere without raising eyebrows.
Evening clothes were subtle and sexy, with their deep necklines and spaghetti straps. The predominantly
black eveningwear collection showed quiet elegance. And if you prefer to wear color, Jasper Conran
offered delicious sorbet pink and mint.
The designer did not break any new grounds in fashion this season. Instead, he sent out a very wearable
collection which is very fitting for the current atmosphere. It would be naive if one said that the
events in New York did not affect London. Jasper Conran's collection gave back some sanity for us to
hold on to even for just 30 minutes.
