MILAN, Dec 19, 2003 – Delicate is her return from a three-year break; Jil Sander takes her
minimal looks and tours down the feminine and soft path for spring summer 2004.
In her search for balance between soul and expression, usual harder, sartorial forms made way for flowing knee length skirts often pleated and fragile dresses with printed detail, but without forgetting the perfect crisp white shirt and little tailored jacket.
Reminiscent slightly of the 1950’s, a romantic and pretty collection in a colour palette just as tender, Jil Sander took the reins of her eponymous fashion house as if she never left.
Call it the return of the Queen of German fashion.
Slender lines and simple freedom are still integral parts in the Jil Sander style such as trousers, shorts and shirts but with a twist of higher understanding.
The female is not only taught, tight lipped and professional, but still believable as she demonstrates her sweet feminine side without shame but instead in an embrace of understanding and celebration.
A collection bound to fill orders will no doubt have the Prada Group who own the label excited to welcome back the mythical German designer with her new found outlook on the world while she puts into positive creativity her recent observations about the world.
