MILAN, Jul 1, 2005/ FW/ --- John Bartlett returns for spring 2006 with a casual sportswear collection embracing the retro-modern American lifestyle.
Bartlett used some of the basic American staples and used innovation to give them a new age twist. Vintage seersucker trousers and suits of the 50's were re-worked in breathable cottons and summer linens.
The basic chino trousers are updated in different washes, but maintained in neutral colours where seams and textures take center stage.
Plaid worker shirts along with relaxed fit daytime blazers are all familiar. 80's style pleats adorned checkered print trousers.
The new chino is also in a high-tech cotton-metal fabric that gives these trousers, along with matching jackets, permanent wrinkles and a defined look of ease.
For evening it is all about the satins on coats and vest. In a deep bronze and black, these satins were out of sync with the rest of the collection but flowed as a capsule collection for night.
Detailing on the other day jackets were great with metal buttons and textured cotton. The jean jacket even got an update with leather detailing.
Staying within the rims of the American male lifestyle, colours were limited to a few red and soft orange jumpers. Prints of plaid and stripes were in full force with a navy blue and white base.
This collection is a collection that Mid-westerners in America can appreciate and understand exactly the roots of John Bartlett's heritage.
