NEW YORK, Sep 13, 2005/ FW/ --- John Bartlett returned to the tents after three years absence stronger than ever with his contemporary and urbane menswear collection.
Continuing for Fall 2006 the tone of the casual sportswear collection that embraced the retro-modern American lifestyle presented in Milan during the Spring 2006 season, John Bartlett revisited the late 1960s and early 1970s when safari jackets were hot and vests were the favorite accessories.
Reworking these staples into silhouettes that reflect the relaxed lifestyle of today while retaining the elegance of the original, Bartlett successfully transformed the iconic looks of the sixties and seventies into something functional and stylish.
Using earth tones from chocolate brown to light beige shown in different washes, John Bartlett opted for a very neutral color palette allowing subtle sartorial detailing to stand out.
Unforgettable pieces include summer sweaters in big stripes, again in neutral colors and short sleeves shirt with piping on the plackets that elongated the torso.
And to make things a little more interesting, he also sent overnight bags, courier bags and briefcases on the runway, making this a very complete menswear collection.
