John Rocha's name is a household name, literally.
Aside from designing clothes, he also designs Waterford Crystal.
He also spanned the globe to get where he is at today, again literally.
He was born in Hongkong, then
moved to London to study, and then move to Ireland to work professionally.
John Rocha's creations, both in clothes and crystal are based on simple lines, yet very exquisite.
His clothes has been described as "gently tailored."
His British Designer of the Year Award
in 1993 is well-deserved for his immaculate tailoring.
For Spring 2001, John Rocha's collection reflect his flair for minimalism and simple lines.
Asymmetric cuts, both on hems and shoulders and wrap-around skirts dominated the womenswear while
the menswear opted for single-breasted jackets and slouch pants.
Soft fabric, sometimes hand-painted, was the fabric of choice, adding fluidity of movemenet.
John Rocha used a wide array of colors - from beige to dark brown, green to maroon.
