John Rocha Spring 2006: Rebirth of the Petticoats
London Fashion Week Spring 2006

John Rocha LONDON, Sep 22, 2005 / FW/ --- John Rocha is noted for his creative knitwear and this season, he incorporated it into the 50 silhouettes that rediscovers the female form and presented on a different eye.

Part fantasy, part reality, the Dublin-based designer followed the ‘neutral’ hues of the season with black and different shades of beige as his main palette made exciting by adding sorbet yellow, blues and orange.

With tailored silhouettes as his base, Rocha added ruching, draping, and layering, plus of course knits into the garments, creating a very original look.

With chiffon and lace as the ‘outer’ skin, knitted ‘petticoats’ were worn under, both to create volume and as integral part of the garment.

Using very little accessories, he allowed the forms and shapes to do the talking, as in the oversized bows, mini ruffled vests, and dropped puff sleeves.

Cute and sweet looking, this collection is for the individualist who is not afraid to be in a scene to be seen.
