John Varvatos John Varvatos won the Perry Ellis Award for Menswear in 2000. Originally from Detroit, he held top design posts at Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren before striking out on his own.

He became President of his own company and then partnered with Nautica, where he was also given a seat at the Board of Directors.

A menswear designer on the rise, John Varvatos creates very wearable clothes. His clientele includes Rob Lowe, Dylan McDermott, Matthew Broderick and Paul McCartney.

With top names wearing John Varvatos creations, it's no wonder Varvatos was nicknamed the next big name in menswear.

During the Fall 2004 New York season, John Varvatos debuted his womenswear line, a natural progression for a designer with his caliber.
