NEW YORK, Feb 21, 2002/ FW/ --- Lloyd Klein showed a fall collection that was full of drama
but almost completely devoid of color.
With the exception of some flashes of bright pink and orange linings, the garments were all
completely black.
Showing both his men's and women's collection for the season, Lloyd Klein presented about
fifty looks.
For women, there were power suits with broad shoulders and cinched waists.
Chiffon halters had hoods and skirts had fishtail hems that trailed behind.
The men in the show came off as princes wearing velvet suits, sweeping coats, and
one-shouldered capes.
Lloyd Klein also reinvented the "lowly dickey" by recreating it in different guises,
such as a very wide tie.
With the combination of muscle shirts, leatherwear, and often, toplessness, it was clear that
the men of the runway were not only there to model, but to be eye-candy for the mostly female
audience.
After all, it was Valentine's Day.
The whole collection was a very uptown look, with French influences.
But don't think you cannot wear the clothes downtown, because some of them are for the
club-going set.
