DALLAS, Mar 14, 2004/ FW/ --- Marc Jacobs finally left the Salvation Army store and moved towards Madison Avenue, showcasing a variety of looks for the 5th Avenue denizens, or more likely, Manhattanites from Wall Street to the Upper East Side.
Think of any woman you know and chances are there is something in Marc Jacobs Fall 2004 collection.
From the debutante of the year, to a rising executive worthy of a slot in Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice.”
There’s also something for the Junior Leaguers (blue cashmere sweater cinched on the waist with a black bow functioning as a belt will look perfect on her), or whatever is its equivalent in Manhattan.
There is even something for vampy Samantha, (really too bad Sex & The City is over, because Patricia Field would have a lot to choose from to choose the 4 girls) – metallic see-thru skirt paired with transparent deep V blouse with a matching tweed jacket to keep her warm during fall.
It’s like a chorus line – a wide representation of women from different walks of life, except that unlike the real chorus line, the Marc Jacobs woman stands out, no matter what she wears.
After years of mining the thrift shops, Marc Jacobs decided to delve into today’s women and came out with a triumphant collection worthy of a standing ovation.
