Mark Kroeker: Raw Romanticism

NEW YORK, Mar 22, 2002/ FW/ --- After being absent from the runways for two seasons, Mark Kroeker
makes a strong comeback at 7th on Sixth.
Winning a grant from the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation, this season, Mark Kroeker's return to the
runways with a "mature and thoughtful collection."
The show notes defined the collection, as a "subtle reference to Spanish and Mexican traditions."
Focusing on the cut and silhouette, the designer continued to mix luxury fabric, couture technique
and modern styling to create a romantic collection with a raw and edgy feel.
Think of a matador and mantilla lace. Sounds incongruent? Not on Mark Kroeker's expert hands.
The Kroeker woman is modern and strong, yet very feminine.
The traditional Spanish and Mexican costume was recreated with modern styling, resulting to
a sleek and sophisticated collection.
The pants are generous, cut gaucho style. The jackets were cropped short and the skirts were
elongated while body hugging.
As WWD commented, "refined, sexy, sophisticated and on the mark."
Mark Kroeker's ninth season is definitely all that!
