According to Harper Bazaar's Dec 1999 issue, Mark Kroeker's Spring 2000 collection is an
"Indie fashion's perennial original which solidifed Mark Kroeker's standing with ethereal,
assymetrical dresses."
Working with Ultrasuede® for his Spring 2000 collection, Mark Kroeker created an
innovative approach to the "little black dress."
Using handknit, heat-pressed Ultrasuede® strips, the designer stripped-cut the fabric,
then hand-knits and hot-presses the pieces at a temperature just enough to melt the material
slightly. He then stretched the resulting squares over a form and beaded the garment with
sterling silver.
He used the South American "mole" hand sewing technique to create patchworked gold-foiled
Ultrasuede®
And if you are interested in learning how to incorporate precious metal with fabric, tyr
the "Badia" hammered metalwork which Mark Kroeker also used.
This season, the designer also introduced luxury handbags with his collection.
