Mark Montano: Gangster Girls

It was mayhem at Mark Montano's show even before it started. It was almost like a movie scene - reporters,
cameras flashing and people waiting at the door to be allowed to enter.
Maybe it was because of Mark Montano's invitation. Written like a tabloid and designed to look like the
FBI's America's Most Wanted Flyer, it caught your attention! Usually invivations were written in nice
stationary or card. Mark Montano's invivation was in newsprint, and something you expect to see at the
U.S. Post Office's Bulletin Board for the FBI's Most Wanted List. And it worked! People lined up to
see his show.
As always, Mark Montano's show is all theater, and a lot of fun! If you were expecting Elliot Ness or
Bonnie & Clyde, you would have been disappointed because the gangster girls were FASHIONABLE, clean and
someone you would see at New York's 21.
Using the basic pallette of pink and black, Mark Montano used solids, stripes and houndstooth for the
collection. High slits, slashed sleeves, and slashed skirts made the collection sexy with a generous
dash of FUN!
