NEW YORK, Feb 17, 2003/ FW/ --- London-based designer Matthew Williamson captured
the mood of the moment at the tents with the bright colors of his collection inspired
by art deco.
Williamson who is known for his keen eye for color mixed lilac, mint green, pale pink and
off-white in the prints, embroidery and solid color combinations.
The result - a sherbet collection, almost eye-candy that will surely stand out during
Fall when the colors are more somber and murky.
Supermodel Helena Christensen who is Williamson's friend and sometimes muse flew
over to give support to the designer to whom she had also modeled for in London.
Wearing a sheer chiffon top and mini skirt, Christensen's get up was a harbinger for
the evening wear section which turned out to be quite lovely.
Notable piece was the zigzag print skirt matched with fitted long sleeved top and
white short crop jacket.
This one will surely be a favorite not only among the ladies who lunch, but to the
young college graduates looking for jobs this fall.
