Michiko Koshino's passion has always been urbanwear.
A favorite by musicians and rock and roll
stars, her creations had been seen both on stage and on the streets of major cities in the world.
Vivid colors and multi-culture-influenced prints are the usual fare for Michiko Koshino's highly
popular collection.
For Spring 2001, Michiko Koshino brought the audience to her home, showing Japanese influences
on the clothes and the accessories for both the men's and womenswear collections.
Models carrying traditional Japanese parasol set the tone of the show.
The surprise - mixing
the Carribean wear with traditional Japanese art updated for the 21st century!
The clothes were
definitive urban wear and club wear.
All of a sudden, it was hip to be immersed in "traditional
culture," and to show off your colors.
Michiko Koshino redefined and reinvented the word "traditional" with this
collection.
