Nanette Lepore: Glamour Girls

Trust Nanette Lepore to make mother nature sexy and feminine. With a collection entitled,
"The Glamour Girls Guide to the Weekend in the Wood," images of Little Red
Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf comes to mind.
But nothing could be farther from what was presented at Bryant Park, except for the forest scene!
The backdrop was the inside of a log cabin with a roaring fire and a deer antler, all painted of course!
The music was 1940's jazz, and in between the saxophones and the piano, you can almost hear the chirping
of the birds. The Audobon Society would surely love this one.
Taking inspiration from Mother Nature herself, the designer sent models to the runway wearing spectacular
fall colors in prints, solids and checks. You might be spending the weekend in the woods, but it is not an
excuse to be dowdy! The Nanette Lepore woman might be a nature lover, but she is definitely a fashionista.
A tightly choreographed collection, Fall 2001 showed Nanette Lepore that in this age of strong women,
femininity still rules. You can be strong but not aggressive.
