LONDON, Feb 17, 2005/ FW/ --- With a very dark colour palate, Nicole Farhi had simple themes showcasing simple garments.
Farhi never strays too far away from black, but she did present a couple of scrumptious red wine pieces, which looked great on a dress and a double-breasted overcoat.
The collection had a Victorian feel with puff shoulders on shirts and dresses and many simple separate corset inspired black tops.
Suede grey knee boots accompanied many of the looks. Riding trousers and lace tops will be good selling separates for her simple customer.
Polka dot skirts and dresses in a see through black chiffon were very feminine. Farhi also threw in a couple of white fur overcoats which brighten the dismal collection.
Black tights underneath many of the looks gave the clothing a medieval peasant girl affect. Her selection of pale face timeless models assisted in making this theme come to life. The show ended with 3 of her show stopping gowns with layers of silk and lace down the bodice.
