Nicole Farhi: Snowing Cream

MILAN, Jan 18, 2005/ FW/ --- Cream will be a staple colour for Farhi next winter. With the use of pure cream on jumpers and coats, the Farhi man will look not only festive, but also clean.

The use of cream throughout the collection was toned down by gray dark chalk board loose fitting slacks. Gaining her inspiration from the 20’s, many of the trousers were wide legged with pleats.

Vests were layered with shirts underneath thick ski sweaters. Dressing for a cold winter, tweed wool and moleskin trousers were highlighted items.

Vibrant red velvet blazers accompanied by red trousers and suede coats mixed well with the snowflake and argyle printed sweaters. Striped turtle necks styled with dogstooth checked jackets gave a school boy effect.

Accessories were in overload starting with pompom hats to keep warm. Wool fingerless gloves and striped knit beanie hats as well as mouse washed leather rucksack keep the schoolboy theme alive.

Farhi’s scarf collection was significant by her use of prints such as stripe and checkerboard. As with many other designers, Farhi seemed to boost her accessories for next winter.

One key accessory was the use of the slate silk cummerbund. The cummerbund was taken out of its usual confines of a tuxedo and styled with day wear.

For evening wear there was a beautiful forest green velvet double breasted suit. This suit was followed by a trench in the same velvet as well as a shorter coat for day.

Black fine wool dinner jackets with pony skin lapels were styled with white shirts with skinny silk twill scarves.

Nicole Farhi has shown that she can dress men not only for skiing, but also for a night out on the slopes…
