MILAN, Jul 9, 2004/ FW/ --- Blond haired angel boys pull out old classics for a taste of the best of British as Nicole Farhi continues to prove that all is not lost in UK design talent.
Spring Summer 2005 in menswear is all about comfort and volume, going back to basics and breathing in innocent nonchalant suave air. In a white fitted out room in minimal delicacy Farhi leaves out staple blacks for a select colour palette of soft blues, talcs and undertones.
As the press notes stated, “There is almost an innocence in deciding to go back to your favourite clothes, but this is what we have done” sending out classic looks of vintage stripe shirts, cotton trenches, cloud washed cotton blazers and waistcoats as well as tailored two pleat trousers.
Casual meets neatness in 42 looks of coolly distinguishable style. Knits are light and often short sleeved in jersey and cotton while leathers are extra soft through washing for satchels and gorgeous button up bomber jackets.
From ribbing to check to knitted linen scarves, French born Algerian London based Nicole Farhi persists in giving her public designs that are seemingly timeless faithfuls while remaining contemporary and decisive.
