Fashion designing is Mark Whitaker's second career. He used to be an international fashion editor
before he decided that he could do what he had been writing about. So in 2000, he launched Omnia,
Latin for "All things for all people"
Being a former fashion editor has its advantages. His "insight into what modern
women really wear enabled him to launch a total wardrobe package range for spring 2000,
including tailoring, knitwear, outerwear, eveningwear and accessories. The concept, complete
with merchandising, shop-fitting and exemplary delivery is now a hit with both top stores and
hip boutiques worldwide."

Omnia's Total Package
By Boyd Davis
Mark Whitaker showed a total wardrobe package at the Sloane Terrace last February 22 for
London Fashion Week.
The pink-based ensemble composed of a pink plaid coat, light pink top with
diamond print, and a pink kneelength A-line skirt heralded that Omnia's Fall 2001 collection
would cover a woman's needs for the whole season.
If you're going out on those rainy fall days, Omnia offers plaid and ecru kneelength coats
and waist-length leather jackets.
Paying homage to the hot trend of low-waist pants, Omnia suggests purple, ecru and magenta cigarette
pants. A pedalpusher was even thrown in just in case you would like to go biking in style.
There is nothing innovative in this very wearable collection. The idea is to show a total
wardrobe package so that you don't have to look anywhere else but Omnia.
Spring 2001
"All things to all people!" Mark Whitaker stayed true to the meaning of his label Omnia. From
beachwear to sportswear, from daywear to evening, the Omnia Spring 2001 collection was a sight to see with
the fine detail work and excellent tailoring.
Solids and print fabrics were intermingled on trousers and dresses and two-piece bathing suits plus beach
coats. With 1980s influence, the collection turned out to be very wearable and fun and should be a staple
in a woman's closet.
Colors ranged from muted sorbet to shocking pinks and oranges. Stripes made of beads exemplify the fine
handmade detail work of Mark Whitaker.
