NEW YORK, Feb 8, 2006/ FW/ --- Oscar De La Renta understands his clientele and knows exactly how to please them. So for Fall 2006, he dressed them in sumptuous coats, fur stoles, cable knit sweaters and beautiful twin sets for day. And for evening, the gowns were as lovely as ever and truly, saying anything after that will be redundant.
There was no clear message, except that everything was beautiful and wonderful. Every piece in the collection will be a great addition to a woman’s wardrobe, beginning from the boatneck short-cropped coat cinched at the waist with a belt pair with relaxed fit pants to the black & white twin set with the knitted cardigan in sunburst icing.
And where will Oscar De La Renta’s fans would be without the fur? There’s the knee-length leopard skin with ¾ puffed sleeves and the white stole that would look perfect worn with any of the strapless gowns.
Reaching out to a younger clientele, Oscar De La Renta also created debutante gowns in pink, blue and gold plus Daria’s chocolate brown ensemble that looked so ephemeral that a debutante who will wear it would look like she is floating on air.
Then there are the red carpet-worthy gowns that obviously will find its way in Hollywood. But, don’t worry; you don’t have to be a screen siren to wear them. Oscar De La Renta made sure that there are many silhouettes to choose from.
Only one thing remains to be said; all of the Oscar De La Renta’s ladies ooze with class and sensuality, where sexiness is defined by what is hidden beneath and not how much skin is shown.
