The Spring term is a rite of passage of sorts for college freshmen. No longer the new kid on the block, but still a freshman. And then, there is the legendary ‘spring break’ that has been documented on reality TV and of course Hollywood.

With his Spring / Summer 2006 collection, Paul Smith wants to make sure that college coeds, freshmen or not are ready for everything and anything, including spring break.

With the first set of the collection looking like the coed raided her brother’s closet to come up with manly shirts and jackets paired with loose-fitting shorts or slim pants, to the more feminine halter neck empire dresses with deep V necklines, it is a sweet and innocent look that Paul Smith proposes come March.

Sneakers paired with lacy tops and lingerie-inspired separates, frilly skorts matched with a bandeau, a trip to the beach is not far off during spring break.

The only thing missing is the swimsuit. But, does one really need it when she’s wearing a cute Paul Smith ensemble?
