Preen's Victoria

Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi might be the new kids on the block at London
Fashion Week (this is only their second scheduled show), but they certainly
don't act like one.
Their Fall 2001 collection definitely hit the mark for the
hip and young market.
A very "neutral color" collection - dominated by shades of brown, olive and
light yellow, Preen fused Victorian gothic with the Harley Davidson crowd.
Starting
with a black long-sleeved leather top with runched and puffed at the shoulders decorated
with antique buttons and keys, the design duo gave birth to Victorian biker chic.
Low waist, hip hugging pants (the hottest look of the season) were paired with suede,
fur and lace.
Antique lace were recycled and used as overshirt, decorated with more antique
buttons and keys. Belts were created using big metal buttons.
Skirts which were either fitted or fluid had assymetrical hems and created with ankle
length train, giving it an interesting look.
Delightfully inventive, Preen added a modern
twist on the traditional British tweeds and tartans by creating a windowpane plaid shirt
with sleeves that were fitted from wrist to elbow, then puffed and ruched to the shoulder.
The machintosh looked Victorian with ruffles and antique buttons.
My favorite is the sleevles knitted turtleneck shirt which looked like a knight's armor.
All in all, the whole collection was very wearable and with this collection, the fashionistas,
nightclub set and the Harley Davidson crowd would definitely be pleased!
