NEW YORK, Feb 12, 2006/ FW/ --- Celebrating a decade in the fashion business, Rebecca Taylor opted for the intimate setting of an installation to preview her Fall 2006 collection.
And just like Esteban Cortazar, who earlier during fashion week also presented his collection via an installation, the reason was to meet clients, journalists and buyers up close and personal, instead of the just taking a bow after a catwalk show.
So, at Gary’s Loft in midtown Manhattan, journalists and buyers trekked 10 blocks to view Rebecca Taylor’s fresh, crisp and dainty collection that actually reminds you of spring with the flowers and butterflies.
But don’t worry; she did not forget that it is for fall, so there were more than enough coats and jackets to keep you warm. Take the cocoa wool ruffle collar coat with lace shirt or the dove gray flannel trench with silk cashmere beaded sweater and crème lace dress; these two alone will make your mouth water for more.
Sticking to her signature ladylike silhouettes, Rebecca Taylor opted for wide legged trousers and semi-bias cut skirts for a relaxed comfy feel.
For the more structured looks, gores and godets prevailed, creating a fluid effect on the hemline.
The setting was perfect; the company was great and the clothes beautiful. Can you ask for more?
