NEW YORK, Feb 11, 2003/ FW/ --- With a title like 'Hard, Sexy & Beautiful,'
the show was truly a Sean P. Diddy Combs creation.
An extravagant affair, full of celebrities and the expected paparrazi mayhem,
the Cipriani, where the show was held, became a mini Shrine Auditorium where the famous and almost famous converged.
The front row was dazzling, composed of Anna Wintour, Kim Cattral, Kelly Ripa and Mary J. Blige.
P. Diddy's trips to Europe has paid of, learning from Donatella Versace how to arrange
a front row which will definitely catch attention.
As for the collection, it is attention-getting alright.
Calling it eclectic is an understatement.
Ohmyrah's black leather hot pants and bustier to harem pants tucked into boots, to
airline maintenance suits seductively altered to fit a woman makes one wander from
an S&M private club to a military plane hangar.
The men's side had a wide range also from the Nepalese sherpa to Wall Street broker,
and then back to F16 pilots, one had a feeling of travelling around the world, and
feeling a little lost.
It's not say that it was not a great show, because it was! And it is also a sure bet
that the looks will sell.
After all, P. Diddy Combs is an entrepreneural genius. His label Sean John is a $215 million
business, not a shabby figure at all.
And fashion is just his 'hobby' same as being an actor. He is still in the music business.
Or are music and acting his hobbies and fashion is his business? I'm getting lost on
that one too.
This collection made a splash for sure. But if you spend three quarters of a million
dollars for it, it's bound be a big affair!
