Sophia Kokosalaki is turning out to be one of London's most promising young designers.
Spring 2001
is only her fourth-scheduled show on the catwalk, but she already has editorials from Vogue, Harper's
Bazaar and W.
And if that is not enough, she also showed two collections for Spring 2001 - her own
label and the menswear that she designs for Ruffo.
The designer's Spring 2001 Collection has a strong 1980s and Greek influences.
The draping on the clothes
remind you of Sophia Kokosalaki's heritage, while the tough hard edge attitude shown on the leather pieces
remind you of the 1980's Duran Duran styles.
The fabrics of choice were jersey and georgette, with latter being used as trimmings in the softer fabrics.
Slashed hemlines with unfinished edges and diagonal draping made the collection assymetric
and with the tailoring and the cut impeccable, it came out to be a very strong collection.
