TORONTO, Oct 19, 2000/ TFI/ --- Four new fashion lines premiered at the Toronto Fashion Incubator Spring 2001 New Labels Show on October 19, 2000.
The venue, a film studio in the city's east end, played host to a crowd of more than 600
buyers, media, sponsors and others in the fashion industry who witnessed the debut
ready-to-wear collections of:
The runway show was followed by a high energy after party by Fashion magazine.
Guests sipped Piper Heisieck champagne and white russians made with Kahlua and Polar Ice Vodka
while viewing videos of ashion presentations held earlier in the day.
Primary even sponsors of the Spring 2001 New Labels show were the Toronto Fashion Incubator,
Manic, Inc., Fashion magazine and The Artist Group.
Other supporting sponsors included Human Resources Development Canada, Style Magazine, TEDCO, TD Evergreen, Tridel Corporation, Wenches and Rouges, City of Toronto, ESP/Ellen Sideri Partnership, Inc., The Newland Group, Town Shoes, Woman Cosmetics and Karen Palmer. Runway models were provided courtesy of Elite Model Management in Toronto.
Joyce Lo and Sabrina Albanese of Wolves are Style's New Labels Designers of the Year.
The fresh energy and fine craftmanship of their collection earned them the award, which
was presented following the New Labels show in October.
The prize includes promotion within the pages of Style Magazine and on its website.
They join previous winner Olena Zylak (1999) and Serena Deparis (1998).
Style is the magazine of the Canadian fashion industry.
