Trained at Central St. Martins, Tracy Mulligan is known for her "needlework." She made her debut at London Fashion Week on-schedule show during the Spring 1999 season, the same year she launched her label (1998).

Tracy Mulligan creates beautiful and refined clothes, usually graceful and with interesting textures. Together with embroidery, appliqués is also a favorite of hers for embellishments. Tracy Mulligan continue to delight fashionistas and fashion afficionados by creating modern clothes with a touch of nostalgia.

Targeted for modern men and women, Tracey Mulligan's clothes are "for-that-moment-in-time" with a quintessential quality that could last in your wardrobe.

Fall 2001

Tracy Mulligan's Black & White Statement
By Boyd Davis

Once again, Tracy Mulligan presented a nostalgic collection for Fall 2001. With the roaring 1920s as inspiration, the speakeasies and flapper girls were updated for the roaring 2020s(?).

A predominantly black and white collection, floral appliqués were used as embellishments on skirts and tops. Skirt lengths were usually below the knee, in either bias or A-line cut.

As a homage to the "transparent" trend, the designer sent a model on the runway with a transparent tulle bodice decorated with floral appliqués, discreetly hiding the nipples and showing just a hint of the breast, equivalent to wearing a low neckline. It still shows a lot of skin, yet still very discreet!

Pants are low-waist and generously cut paired with a houndstooth jacket (reminiscent of Coco Chanel during the early years). Turtleneck shirts and assymetrical neckline for tops were paired with either pants or skirts.

My favorite was the black and white dress with wide leather waistband printed with paintbrush slashes. Black organza wrapped the bodice and shoulder. I don't know where a woman could wear it but is sure looked cool.

As always, the hair is a statement in itself. The models wore chignon and a headband topped with a feather. Classic Tracy Mulligan!

Spring 2001
For Spring 2001, Tracey Mulligan presented an updated 1930s look, emphasized with the model's hair circa 1930s. Colors ranged from beiged to black, yellow, white and orange. Lots of tulle and fluid fabric, creating an atmosphere of romance.
