NEW YORK, Mar 17, 2002/ FW/ --- One of the great things about getting backstage passes in a show is that
you see the clothes and the designer up close and personal.
Bonnie Bien, who is the publicist for Valentin Yudashkin has given us backstage passes for
the Valentin Yudashkin show, giving us a closer look.
Just for your info, backstage passes are harder to come by, compared to invitations to the
show.
Backstage access is controlled for mainly due to security reasons and also because it is very
crowded in there.
Backstage is usually a very small room, compared to the runway area. And the "crew" are all
there - from stylists to make-up artists, to the staff of the designer, and of course, the
designer himself.
You barely have enough for elbow room! So, it is really a privilige for the press (writers and
photographers) to be invited.
An invitation for backstage is something that press members treasure. It is also
something that you appreciation to. In this case for us, Bonnie Bien was the one who
gave us backstage access, which is truly appreciated.
At Valentin Yudashkin's, examining the clothes up close, one cannot help but appreciate the
workmanship and attention to detail.
As it goes with clothes, it's the little details that count - the buttons, the hems, the
stiching, the luxurious fabrics used.
What you see on the runway is the totality of the creation. Backstage, you get to study
the outfit part by part, from the lapel of the collar to the buttonhole.
And that when you see the true artistry of Valentin Yudashkin!
A master tailor, Valentin Yudashkin has also mastered the techniques for creating a great
collection.
