MILAN, Dec 23, 2003 – Donatella literally dresses her divas as herself, face portable on tops and bags in a never leave home without your own personal designer trend.
And for Spring 2004, expect Beyoncé Knowles and Mariah Carey, who are friends with the designer and attended her show last October in Milan, to dress up in pop art colours and an overflow of prints from floral to baroque.
Donatella went for colour and figure hugging looks, gorgeous, big hair and swaying your body to boot.
Big hair is back with a vengeance! With trend-setting Versace giving a nod to the hairstyle, which is a favourite in Dallas, and actually, all of Texas, including Oklahoma.
Despite rumours that the company is in economical decline, Donatella’s Spring 2004 collection did not show that the House of Versace is in a decline.
Everything is what fans have come to expect and want --- pretty, gob stopping diva chicness.
Halter neck tops and ruffles on everything from dresses to micro shorts.
Jackets are casual for those exclusive swimming pool bbq’s, like the gold Hollywood one-piece swimsuit.
Pants are tight and matched with little bra tops, long sleeved and ruffled salsa style.
A breather came from white separates, knee length skirts and little wrapped flowing sundresses. Waistlines are high and V’s plunging Monroe style recalling vague influences from the 1950’s.
Evenings are reserved for chiffon and shiny fabrics, long bright coloured fitted dresses, and flamenco ruffled multi layered skirts short in the front, long and trailing at the back.
Donatella doesn’t need to use transparency for sexiness as her cuts are designed for the female who knows that looking great in a fabulous dress with heels has ultimate sexual power, its just a matter of choice and then taking what you want.
