Versus: Graphical Punk and Rock & Roll

Jun 18, 2002/FW/ --- One thing you can say about Donatella Versace, she can really
follow through.
After the "big, brash and beautiful" (as described by Godfrey Deeny), Gianni Versace collection,
Versus was a reinterpretation of the theme, just meant for a "younger" market.
With big, bold graphics with pop culture icons thrown in, it will be safe to say that the Versus
man this fall wants to be seen and heard.
I could see some of the clothes being worn by rich college kids. Some items can even be
worn on stage, i.e., if you are a member of a band --- rock, hip hop or punk.
Definitely not meant for the shy types out there because you will definitely be noticed
when you're wearing Versus this fall.
To make it a little bit more interesting, Donatella sent several female models on the runway.
Carmen Kass definitely looked dressed to kill in black and fuschia.
