New York, Feb 10, 2000/ FW/ --- Inspired by New York City, young Hong Kong
designer Vivienne Tam brought zen to bustling Manhattan through her design.
"My current collection was inspired by the view from my terrace skyline --especially the
architectural corners and gray and bluish of an evening sky," Vivienne Tam told FW backstage
before her show.
I find the glow of city lights and glitzy sparkle from pavements romantic and I suddenly
realized my inspiration is here and that I don’t always need to travel."
True to her word, Vivienne Tam sent a collection on the runway that reminds you of urban
life.
Using shimmer fabric in pink, brown and white, it reminds you of city lights.
But don't think of neons and bright lights!
Think of a soft glow and moonlight.
It's quiet and serene. After all, this is Vivienne Tam, known for her zen and balance.
Caroline Ribeiro looked glowing in her fitted pink skirt and chocolate brown tube top.
As an innovative approach, Vivienne Tam gathered the center of the tube top using a spaghetti
strap.
Then, she extended it so that it will around the neck, pulling the tube top center higher,
forming an inverted V.
The designer also sent turtle necks and plunging V-necklines.
It was a collection meant for urban living, fitting for city that inspired this
collection.
