MILAN, Jan 12, 2004/ FW/ --- He who lives by the sword, the modern day knight of King Arthur’s Round Table or Robin Hood, in a mix of soccer sportiveness and tradition was the Vivienne Westwood autumn winter man 2004 presented in Milan yesterday.

She was full of energy as she danced down the catwalk, still appreciated and applauded with warmth in true cult deity style.

Her success is due not only to the visionary designer within, but thanks to the sartorial finishes and attention to tailoring that is synonymous of the Westwood label.

Patterned tone on tone shirts and ties, the kilt and the right mix of the rock world through side lacing on pants, often in leather are all part of the Westwood journey --- a journey that skips decades in a manner that only she knows how.

The combination of leg warmers, long coats, oversized collars and cuffs, and sparkling evening suits is not an easy one, but Westwood succeeds.

Hints at the 1970’s, through simple and effective graphic contrast used for knitwear, leather jackets and platform shoes, sees her help in the continuing of the already evident themes that have come to light this season in Milan.

With trends in mind, and Carlo Carducci, Chelsea footballer the new face for the spring summer 2004 men’s collections, the incorporation of basic soccer and sports elements such as double ribbons following side seams on pants is a must.

City wear, suave and comfortable, the Westwood man next winter is not only an observer, but takes an active role.
