MILAN, Jun 23, 2003 /FW/ --- Always true to her own distinctive style, Vivienne Westwood
proposes sartorial volume through sleeves and ruffles, tone on tone
ties and shirts and a hint of the Carribean for the 2004 spring summer
man.
The show opened with a series of afro tunics teamed up with trousers,
accessorized with jewerlry to match in the form of ethnic earings and
necklaces, for a man who gives up nothing in his search for comfort and
style.
Often directed more towards the body underneath, rather than the
clothes themselves, with abundant pants finish at the ankle and rolled
up sleeves of jackets and overcoats that often finished above the elbow
for a man who is aware of his body and not afraid to show it.
The British designer shakes up the formal, making it feel easy as tank
tops are worn under formal suits and tailored slicing appears in shirts
and jackets. Wide ties are present with same colour shirts and her
young men shouldn?t be afraid to team them with short shorts or knitted
bermuda pants.
A hint of the eighties appeared through the use of flourescents in day
wear, but otherwise her fans weren?t diappointed as she continued to
propose her usual greys and pastels.
Vivienne Westwood also announced the launch of her new eyewear range in
collaboration with Allison, consisting in both spectacles and
sunglasses, ladies and unisex due to debut in October in Paris.
With over 40 years experience in the eyewear market, Allison
President Silvio Vercellio Reane said "We are confident that we shall
be able to reproduce the characteristics and features of the British
designer's creations in our eyewear, thus widening the range of
productions offered by the IT Holding Group in the top level of the
eyewear market."
