MILAN, Jun 28, 2004/ FW/ – Milan swings into hyper style mode and the Anglo Saxons take the stage for the round of first day applause as Pringle of Scotland, Westwood, Burberry Prosum and Boateng enlighten tastes for universal chic.
Queen Viv (photo at left) is as always, radiant, as she walks her wooden catwalk and bows to photographers while ‘Radio Vivienne Westwood’ tunes in and out of 50’s favorites to 70’s punk.
Now honestly, how can this Lady be anything but admiral, after celebrating her 34 years in fashion with the current exhibition at the V & A Museum in London (a show that is due to start traveling the world in a little less than a month, first stop Australia) and a collection for her beloved MAN full of irony and sexiness.
Aristocracy and sensuality as pinstripes and shoulder pads take on bondage themes and erotica.
Classic day suits are light and uninhibiting often matched with tone on tone or pattern on pattern tie and shirt leaving room for straps and braces, as they lace and weave up and down the body alluding to a luscious idea of divine master and servant roll play.
Kilts are a must for next summer as sensual men become manly in skirts, they are silk and hand painted making them all the more precious. Westwood continues to show off her mans legs in long socks and knee length volume shorts or underwear inspired little jockeys.
She zips, tactically cuts and details her 2005 spring summer men’s wardrobe with style and exuberance. Sailor boys, modern day Knights of the Round Table, bold brights, disco silver sequins and tongues and lips are the spice of life and as the Lady herself says ‘dressing in personality enriched clothes makes life all the more interesting’, and of course she is right.
