MILAN, Jun 27, 2005/ FW/ --- With spice and style the best of British shone on the Milan catwalks yesterday; Ozwald Boateng, Burberry Prorsum and of course Queen Vivienne herself.
It may be peace, or simply the search for justice she is after (but then again aren’t we all).
As her spring summer 2006 collection not only launched three new additions to the Man Collection, expanding the already existing Grey, Special and Purple labels to include the Seaman, Archive, and Worlds End Classics labels, but hailed press and buyers to sign a petition supporting the release from prison of Native American and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Leonard Pelter.
Her man is sexy, innovative and original in printed patterned bicycle pants, mixing volume together with comfort in asymmetrical jackets, while pajama inspired stripes fall as straight as the baggy pants they are printed on for the collection inspired by ‘active resistance’.
Often romantic and always political, Westwood brands these post Victorian types who wear gorgeous kilts, signature knits and pure white long johns with giant printed letters, ‘I am not a terrorist, please don’t arrest me’.
Cool blues and pirate whites, a magnitude of patterns and custom bold red tinges make up next summers palette for the man in search of something new and far from banal to express himself in.
