PARIS, Oct 5, 2004/ FW/ – Queen Vivienne may have entitled her spring summer 2005 collection ‘Ultra Femininity’ but her ladies are just as much about sexy attitude as they are about being regal.
After thirty years in the business, there is something special about Vivienne Westwood. It may be the fact that she is a Maestro in knitwear, or that she has the ability to transform historical and cultural epochs into a current wardrobe of clothes or then again it may simply be the energy and love she dedicates when putting together a wardrobe.
The 18th century artist Francois Boucher gives inspiration to Westwood as she continues to keep her signatory asymmetrical looks complete with tucks, pleats, draping and buttons modern and unique.
Pop art actuality is used on T’s, beer logo’s on thick pumps and bondage is made fun and temping as belts run up and down legs, fastened and buckled. Good post revolution girls turn bad with her sensual wenches in tight bodices, bosom popping necklines and volume plenty shirts, skirts and sleeves.
Military influenced knits and naval reminiscent Cracker Jack closures are used on almost everything. Yet while there seems to be a decisive jam pant trend with comfort plus baggy crotches Westwood puts tanks upside down appearing like skirts and shorts.
Bold stripes turn into exquisite lace and feminine floral printed light chiffon before moving to exotic Asian hints through silk printed kimono cut dresses and obo belted waists.
Stylish Westwood attitude is superbly chic, colorful and for the fun adventurers. Rumors have it that the goddess herself may possibly begin a new collaboration in the not so distant future, and with no less than De Beers diamond jewelers who were present at the Parisian show yesterday.
