Claudia Schiffer to Auction Off Her Own Jewels
NEW YORK, Aug 21, 2001/ --- Claudia Schiffer has a heart of gold ... and diamonds and topaz.
The German supermodel is donating a $25,000 necklace to the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).
Not only that, but she's going to auction it off herself at the foundation's "Cinema Against AIDS" gala in
Venice on September 31. Hosted by Bulgari (who gave Schiffer the jewels she's decided to give away), the event
will take place during the Venice Film Festival for the second year in a row. Gala attendees are expected to
include Nicole Kidman, Elizabeth Taylor and Charlize Theron.
Other luxury items to be featured in the live and silent auctions are a Louis Vuitton vanity case designed by
Sharon Stone and a Romeo Gigli evening gown donated by the designer himself. amfAR hopes to raise more than $1
million for their cause.
