DALLAS, Jun 1, 2001/ --- Born in Belem, Brazil in 1980, Caroline Ribeiro is part of the Brazilian wave that hit the fashion world.

She moved to Paris with just polaroids photos in her portfolio and landed Gucci's ad campaign plus runway shows. Tom Ford, Creative Director of Gucci had said that among the crop of young models today, Caroline Ribeiro is his favorite.

And who would disagree with the King of Cool himself, voted by Time Magazine as America's Best Designer. Caroline Ribeiro's face is exotic, her eyes almost looking oriental. Born part Indian and part Portuguese, Caroline Ribeiro fits the demographics of today's young people - a mixed heritage.

It is not only at the runways that Caroline Ribeiro reigns. She had also landed the prestigious Revlon contract. The 5-foot-11, brunette bombshell will be joining the ranks of model Rhea Durham, who signed on only four months ago; South African model Nicola Breytenbach; and actress Halle Berry. She is the latest addition at Revlon, who said they wanted to focus on a younger market after Cindy Crawford retired in February.
