NEW YORK, Mar 23, 2002/ --- It's official: Kate Moss is expecting her first child in October
with her boyfriend, Dazed & Confused publisher Jefferson Hack.
Confirming rumors about her pregnancy, the super-waif told London tabloid Mirror: "It's true.
I am pregnant."
A spokeswoman at Storm, Moss's agency, also confirmed the news, saying that Moss is
"very happy."
Twenty-eight-year-old Moss's biological clock has been ticking for some time; the model
announced last spring that she was eager to have a child. Last May Moss told friends that
if nothing happened within six months, she was willing to undergo fertility treatments.
At that time, Moss, who once confessed that boredom with the fashion world made her turn to
drugs and booze, even adopted a healthier lifestyle, cutting down on alcohol and cigarettes.
Moss rose to modeling fame after she appeared bare-chested in Calvin Klein Jeans ads in
the early '90s. Since then, she's gone on to become one of the highest paid posers in history.
She is currently the face of Rimmel cosmetics.
Moss has also garnered attention for her stormy love life -- former boyfriends include
actor Johnny Depp and Spacehog's Anthony Langdon. Moss has been dating Hack, 30, for the
last 18 months after meeting him at a party.
Some are now speculating that the two are plotting their wedding, but Hack's father told
reporters this week that he is not aware of any impending marriage plans: "Often young people
don't get married at all these days, do they?"
