CHANEL's 2003 Model of the Year Contest
Winner Featured in Five Issues of seventeen Magazine and Automatic Entry Into Ford SuperModel of the World Contest
Feb 10, 2003/ FW/ --- Young women aspiring to be models can win a chance to strut their stuff on the
runway for top modeling agents in New York City; get the royal treatment from
stylists and makeup artists during a photo shoot for seventeen magazine; fly to
Paris for a CHANEL fashion show; receive a 6-month Ford modeling contract, a
professional photo shoot in NYC, including production of new comp cards; and a
$1,000 shopping spree. It will happen to one lucky young woman if she is chosen
to be the 2003 CHANEL New Model of the Year.
Aspiring CHANEL models between the ages of 13-21 can enter the sixth annual
CHANEL New Model of the Year contest by picking up an official entry form at any
CHANEL Beaute counter at participating Macy's stores nationwide or sending the
following information to CHANEL New Model Contest Entries, P.O. Box 9298, Des
Moines, IA 50306-9298: name, address, phone number, birth date, height, weight,
sizes (dress, blouse, skirt, pant and shoe) along with two photographs (no group
shots).

deadline for entering is March 31, 2003. No purchase is necessary for
entry.
The contest is a premier launching pad for fresh faces with little or no
professional modeling background and typically generates tens of thousands of
entries. Past winners have signed contracts with Ford and Look modeling
agencies.
Seventeen will select 50 semifinalists who will receive a collection of
CHANEL CHANCE fragrance and an official CHANEL New Model of the Year Contest
T-shirt, plus they will automatically be entered into the Ford Supermodel of the
World Contest which awards its winner with a $250,000 Ford contract. From the
50, the field is narrowed down to eight finalists who win a trip to New York
City. During the trip, they will participate in a fashion show for top modeling
agents, star in a photo shoot for seventeen magazine, receive a hair makeover at
a top NYC salon and a beauty makeover by CHANEL international makeup artist
Susan Sterling.
One grand prizewinner will jet to Paris, France, for a five-day trip for two
that includes tickets to the CHANEL Ready-to-Wear fashion show featuring the
world's top supermodels. She will also appear in five issues of seventeen
magazine and will win a $1,000 shopping spree, plus she will also win a 6- month
Ford modeling contract.

PRIMEDIA magazine and the largest monthly teen beauty/fashion magazine, have
established the New Model of the Year contest to search for the next great face.
For more than 58 years, seventeen has been recognized as a valuable resource for
finding the latest fresh faces and launching the careers of some of America's
