NEW YORK, December 16, 2002/ FW/ --- Los Angeles-based designer Jared Gold has found the
proper mix of art and commercial viability with his Spring 2003 collection shown in
New York last September.
Known for his theatrical looks that ranged from vaudaville acts to cross dressing male
models, Jared Gold presented an updated version of the Girl from Ipanema - young, vibrant,
and in tune with today.
Hats and Bird of Paradise flowers as hair ornament gave a very summery feeling from the
islands.
Knee-length skirts, both tight-fitting and generously cut, embellished with ruffles
or pleats, the whole collection is all about summer fun and looking hot.
Low-waisted pants with navel-showing tops insured that these collection is for the young and
the young at heart.
Of course, this will not be a Jared Gold show without drama.
The drama was provided by the theatrical background of balls that changed colors from
blue to gold as the show progessed.
All in all, it was a very strong collection, and definitely, very commercial.
So, don't be surprised if you see Jared Gold's labels in department stores this coming
March.
