Oct 29, 2002/ FWD/ -- With nine new stores opening last year and 20 more expected to open
in the next two years, Italian luxury accessories company Furla is expanding and reaching
out to their established and future clients alike.
Their spring/summer 2003 collection takes four themes -- Fame, Street Heroes, Ciak and
Impero Dei Sensi, the senses.
The elaborated designs are a departure from the line's traditional classic sensibility.
A few pieces in the Fame collection carry feminine detailing throughout, with soft leathers
in pastels and pales, while others, inspired by the heady discos of the late '70s and
early '80s, are studded and done in bright bold shades of turquoise, red and kiwi.
Equally bold are the bags in the Street Heroes line, which include zips, rings and other
edgy hardware.
One of Furla's longtime best sellers, the Greta bag, has been reinterpreted and is now
available in cowhide and elk calfskin.
Part of the Ciak line, some of the more eye-catching bags were inspired by film stars and
carry an image of a woman's face on them.
The shoes in the Ciak collection are also movie star sexy, with high clogs, sandals and
pumps designed to enhance the walk and gams of budding starlets.
Finally, Impero Dei Sensi features elegant, luxurious bags with simple lines and stitching.
The ballet slippers in this sophisticated line are openwork suede and are as classic as
they are stylish.
Furla is also introducing eyewear for the first time this season, following the designer
monogram trend by printing their 'F' motif on the temple.
Styles range from high glamour and bold colors to more youthful and sporty designs.
They will be produced by De Rigo, one of the world's leading eyewear manufacturers,
and will be available by the end of the year.
