SYDNEY, May 6, 2003/ FW/ --- Akira Isogawa has been showing at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week since its inception in 1996.

Garnering great reviews from editors and retail buyers since that first time, Akira Isogawa continues to please his audience.

For Spring 2004, Akira's vision is soft and gauzy.

From the white backless gowns to the hip-hugging ankle length skirts, the theme was femine and billowly.

Memorable pieces include a two-tone skirt in rust and olive green which hugs the hips then sheered when it passed the hipline paired with white body-hugging sleeveless shirt embellished with beads.

Akira also debuted his menswear this season. Wide cut pants that merged the Indonesian malong and ninja uniform.

The piece de résistance was the white backless gown embellished with ruffles.

It is easy to imagine Jennifer Lopez wearing it in one of her videos.
