SYDNEY, May 3, 2004/ FW/ --- Now who says that Australia is in the middle of nowhere and knows little about the world fashion scene? What is cosmopolitan anyway when the sun is shining and you are getting driven around in Mercedes Benz cars?
Though honestly this is perhaps, at least from this humble writers point of view, possibly the most organized fashion week that I have ever attended.
Maybe its because we are considered International delegates or maybe its just because they have put together a tight knit team!
I mean they even give you a badge with your seating plan and venue show by show and day by day, so no carrying around bulky invites and dealing with mad PR’s, plus loads of goody bags, now who can really complain!
However the schedule mixes it up with the best and if one is to attend all shows, it means a 9am start and final curtain call at 10.30pm, add the usual delays and then you do the math.
Nicola Finetti: Innovative Cutting Edge Design
Nicola Finetti takes a semi natural slant, if you consider all flying creatures from mosquitoes to butterflies.
He uses metallic sheen on shoes and suits for slim female silhouettes streamlined for flight.
Winged sleeves, handkerchief hemlines and cobweb knit mixed with 1950’s skirts and mini ruffles are all part of his new summer wardrobe.
As a secret Puma fan it was with great delight that Finetti announced a collaboration with Puma in offering innovative and cutting edge design, his models walked in the Mostro Alto, a boot like alternative to the light and essential sneaker Puma is already famous for.
