Feb 3, 2003/ FWD/ --- Adeptly straddling both hemispheres was 24-year-old men's wear designer
Maxime Perelmuter, whose three-year-old label British Colony offered boys with preppy style
tendencies an edgy attitude.
To the electroclash sounds of The Rapture's "Jealous Lover," a series of sporty L.L. Bean-ish
looks - plaid oxfords, plant-printed surfer shorts, rain ponchos, and raglan wool cardigans -
made their way out styled as though the poor prepster had pulled an acid-ridden all-nighter
at the city's renowned nightclub, Love.
Shirts were haphazardly layered over one another, shorts were worn over pants,
some boys even seemed to misplace their pants all together, wearing only their underwear
and duck-hunting boots.
