PARIS, Oct 4, 2004/ FW/ --- The bar of excellence and of achievement was set extremely high for Bruno Pieters after his last collection, which established him in Paris as one of the fashion week calendar’s top talent. He magnificently rose to the challenge of those high expectations and once again demonstrated his consistency.
The first garment to catch my attention was Pieters’ cloak-like top in cream. It was light and seems to be endowed with its own dose of kinetic energy.
All of the dresses in this collection were above the knees. Some were hooded.
The silver short ensemble was quite interesting with its semi-detachable sleeves and hood.
Pieters’ suit ensembles were one of the best aspects of a consistently strong collection. One skirt suit was gold with lace-like motifs. It should give women the desire to set themselves apart from other women as they make their own bold statement that doesn’t wreak of too much fashion.
It was without a doubt the skirt suite in teal and grey tone that will sell like hotcakes and fried sausages on a country Sunday morning. The top is nearly like a tank top. This was probably the most simple and elegant look of the show. It should prove most pleasing to buyers.
Pieter’s also did a long knitted dress that drew much approval. It has tulle underneath for volume. His pink dress was lovely and can easily double as a cocktail dress.
His little black dress is for she who refuses conformity. And his leather ensemble featuring a micro skirt with detailing is just electrifying!
This collection was smaller than the previous one to which journalists were treated six months ago. It was short and to the point. Its appeal more than made up for the long wait to see it in the hot capacity filled room to which attendees were subjected.
