Princess Charlotte by Charlie Brown: Hippy Bohemian Looks

SYDNEY, May 5, 2005/ FW/ --- The show that everyone had been talking about finally took to the stage this morning at Cargo Hall on Circular Quay.
So while Jade Jagger’s presence in the front row contented photographers and their flash bulbs, the return of the San Francisco native designer behind the original Charlie Brown label who declared bankruptcy only four years earlier returned to the catwalk once again, no sign of creditors in sight, Jade by her side and Brown Sugar as the soundtrack.
Full of hippy bohemian looks, the Princess Charlotte line is said to be inspired by Miss Jagger herself, or at least by those with her jet set lifestyle in a mix of seventies and eighties reminiscent looks.
Beading and shimmering sequins are abundant and come on everything from leather to silk in a demonstration of Brown’s design skill.
Lovely collarless jackets with important shoulders are either long or short in exquisite jacquards and are worn over Indian tops, floor length skirts and halter neck or deep scoop evening wear.
All in all Brown’s comeback show was the right mix of luscious luxe and commercial viability.
