NEW YORK, Aug 29, 2003/ FW/ --- DRES by Andres Throckmorton Stickney hits the New York
runway on September 13 at 2:00 PM at the Ashastyle venue Times Square Studios.
Andres who trained under Hussein Chalayan at TSE and at Ralph Lauren's Purple Label
unveils his first complete womenswear collection for DRES this season.
The label which started as an accessories collection in 2002 is now complete with the
launch of the ready-to-wear collection.
Andres, whose family is a global corporate gypsy, takes his inspiration from his world travels
during his growing up years.
Multi-cultural and innovative, Andres' Spring 2004 collection is a reflection of
the global nature of fashion today.
It's a "celebration and communication" of the artistic medium called fashion,
with an underlying social message.
African leaders and visionaries, multiculturalism and Stickney's extensive world
travel are the inspiration for the Spring 2004 Collection.
His use of
innovative fabrics, such as perforated rubber and Teflon, add a fresh
hi-textural feel to the collection.
The Spring 2004 Collection will
feature evening and daywear in a range of natural colors, such as rust, mud
brown, jungle green, khaki; highlighted with acqua, sunburst yellow and
hyacinth; and an overall presence of matte black.
For those who dare, check out
the DRES ethnic urban printed gown, with perforated rubber inset and corset
boning details.
Additional highlights of the collection include: Mind-blowing
embroidery, metal staple embellishment on cool summer shirts, stunning tie-dyed
suiting printed with iridescence, bold plaid sexy wrap tops and elegant flared
skirts.
The DRES collection is jam packed with great looks for the
fashion-forward woman who likes a clean silhouette with subtleties of the
modern, the exotic and a touch of the eclectic.
