Gabriel Scarvelli: Fashion Child Prodigy

Gabriel Scarvelli can be considered a fashion child prodigy, starting his training at 7 for apparel design and manufacturing.

Before he reached his teens, he was already learning garment construction, cutting and fitting.

When he was 17 and studying at East Sydney TAFE fashion studio, Collete Dinigan asked him to be her head beader.

Since then, he had worked with Opera Australia, Morrissey, Terry Biviano, Sass & Bide, Bare and Tigerlily; creating the now famous half million dollar pearl bikini.

Though he officially launched his label during the Mercedes Australia Fashion Week Spring 2004 season at 24, the young designer had already gotten editorials from Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire.

Definitely a designer to watch among the fashion flock from down under.
