New Jewelry Designer Gallery Showcase
NEW YORK, Jul 14, 2002/ FW/ -– Promising new talents and their innovative jewelry collections
will debut at JA New York’s New Designer Gallery.
One of the world’s most prestigious jewelry shows, the summer JA New York Show will be held
at New York City’s Jacob Javits Convention Center on July 28 –31, 2002.
The pieces from the New Designer Gallery participants will be on display on the level 4
Galleria as part of the International Jewelry Design Guild's Design Collections 2002 pavilion.
In addition, the designers themselves will compete for the title of “The Mort Abelson -
New Designer of the Year.”
According to Drew Lawsky, show director of JA New York, “Each year the New Design Gallery
brings fresh faces and amazing jewelry to the JA New York show floor.
Along with the International Jewelry Design Guild (IJDG), we’re proud to host these
remarkable collections and help launch promising careers in the jewelry industry.”
This year’s New Designer Gallery showcase’s the work of the following newcomers:

ALPHONSE DE LA FORET MAGNIFICENT JEWELS of Miami, FL
Mort Abelson, founder of the New Designer Gallery, will evaluate the works of the new artists
along with a prominent panel of judges.
The winner will be announced by Mr. Lawsky and presented by Mr. Abelson at 3:00 P.M., Monday,
July 29, in front of the New Designer Gallery in the Galleria, Level Four.
